2009 ANNUAL SENIOR PROM

The senior prom proved to be successful! Over 70 seniors, ages 60 and above, were chauffeured to the prom, held at UMCH, by limousines, had a full dinner and participated in an evening of dancing and karaoke!

Check out what some of our seniors had to say about what they most enjoyed at the prom...

"Music was good, food was good. I could not get out to dance but I was pattin’ my feet, clappin my hands and movin’ in my chair." -Mrs. Carrie Holliman

“I was just a dancin’ with my cane. It was stormin’ outside and we were dancing up a storm inside.”-Ms. Grace Davis

"We had a limousine pick us up and the music was real good – some of my favorite." -Mr. John Briles

"With the one man band (DJ Services) I was taught how to dance." -Mr. John Briles

"I liked ALL of it and I did cut a few steps!" -Eddie Towsell

Anita Christopher, United Methodist Community House Director of Community Relations and Senior Manager stated, “It is important for our services to support the seniors basic needs, but it is also important to bring joy into their lives and to just have fun.

A special thank you to Rev. Nathaniel and Laura Moody for their donation of the limosuine services, Grand Rapids Community College School of Nursing for providing 6 nursing students to serve the dinner and George Gregory of “A Cut Above Entertainment” who discounted his DJ entertainment services.
