Our Child Development Center staff contribute to the mission of the United Methodist Community House by providing educational and caregiving leadership to the classroom, by working in collaboration with the Lead Teacher and assigned volunteers, to create a developmentally appropriate program for our students and ensuring program compliance and environmental safety.

      The Site Coordinator supervises the day-to-day operations of the after school site and for staff, children, and parents of the Loop program (Sept-July). This position requires face-to-face leadership in this program and may involve early morning and evening responsibilities.

      The Activity Leader will assist the Site Coordinator in the planning, developing, and implementing of classroom activities for after-school programs at local schools. This position requires face-to-face leadership in this program and may involve early morning responsibilities.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      · Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans

      · Participate in games and activities

      · Provide weekly lesson plans to the Site Coordinator

      · Provide each participant’s parent with information on individual activities on a daily basis

      · Prepare materials for daily activities

      · Prepare shopping lists

      · Maintain records of attendance, arrival times, and departure times

      · Maintain supervision of children at all times

      · Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed

      · Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to correct behavior

      · Give tours to prospective enrollees

      Performs and other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation

      Additional Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

      • Negative T.B. skin test
      • Documentation of physical exam
      • Fingerprint/Criminal Background Check Clearance
      • Department of Human Resource Child Abuse and Neglect Clearance
      • Sex Offender Registry Clearance
      • CPR/First Aid Certified preferred

      Job Type: Part-time

      Pay: $13.00 – $13.50 per hour

      Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week

      Schedule:

      • After school
      • Monday to Friday

      Education:

      • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

      Experience:

      • Youth Program: 1 year (Preferred)

      Primary responsibilities involve communication with bus drivers during their am/pm and midday routes, providing mentoring as necessary, and to collaborate and interact with others in a positive, effective manner. Lead Drivers serve as a substitute driver or monitor as needed, and dispatch fleet operations. Lead Drivers develop and onboard instruction in all phases of transportation operations.
