All Medicaid covered trips must be approved before travel is confirmed. Most Medicaid covered services go through MDHHS for approval.

Medicaid Member services are covered – at no cost to you. You can get a ride for visits to your:

  • Medical provider/Specialist
  • Dental provider
  • Pharmacy
  • Behavioral health care

UMCH partners with various payers to provide transportation. The fares for these trips are typically covered by the partnering agency and must be approved before travel is confirmed.

If you are on private insurance, some plans cover Non-Emergency Medical Transportation rides, check with your insurance provider for details. UMCH Non-Emergency Medical Transportation does not bill insurance directly. All private pay clients must pay at the time of services. Clients are provided an receipt for services that the client then submits to their insurance provider for reimbursement.
